For day two, I want to share the portraits of Jenny and Jean and their two handsome little guys Cole and Tanner.

The portrait session was an evening session at San Clemente Pier in November.  This time of year makes for a gorgeous backdrop because of the winter light and the way the tides are.  Sometimes the sand is like glass and the water can be surprisingly warm (considering it’s late in the year!).

The boys had a great time and I was able to make a portrait of Jenny and Jean that I really loved and so did they.  I had a client come into the studio today for a planning meeting and she mentioned that she had not had photographs made of the family since their wedding day.  I can understand how that happens.  When kids start entering the equation, things change in a big way.  I’m always grateful that my clients really get the importance of not only having the kids photographed but to also photograph Mom and Dad as well (especially true as we get closer to Valentine’s Day)!  I encourage all my clients to do a family portrait (even if it’s a short session as part of a longer session on the kids) and include them at no additional charge on the Kids of OC sessions.

I believe it’s important to do that for display in our homes and online now, but also in twenty to thirty years down the road.  Those portraits you then will hold in your hand will take on even more meaning.
