Recently, I had an extensive engagement portrait session with Monica and Michael, who are getting married in Long Beach this coming September.

This was my first extended engagement portrait session and we incorporated two locations and two clothing changes.  The first location was at the historic Mission San Juan Capistrano in SJC.  It was a clear day, and we had some great nooks and locations within the Mission to shoot.  It’s always a bit different throughout the year because the shadows are different based on season.  It wasn’t too crowded either, so we had some flexibility in terms of location.

The second location was down at the San Clemente Pier.  It was a Chamber of Commerce type of sunset too.  Big ball of sun, paddleboarders and surfers by the pier and just gorgeous wispy clouds that caught the fading rays of sunset nicely.  Supplemented with off camera lighting and the results were fantastic.

Monica and Michael loved the session, loved the photographs and are excited about their wedding.  I am too and am glad to be working with them!
