My Mom arrived for a visit on Tuesday and despite the trip, she still had energy to play with the kids in the evening, before dinner.
She’s doing really well, loving her life without the big house in her very comfortable apartment at Home Again, the assisted living center in Columbus (WI). It’s also a relief for me and my sisters because now we know she has great care 24/7/365 and less worries.
So when she comes out now — this is her fourth trip out in September and she’s visited every year for Sparky’s….err…Matthew’s birthday (she only calls him Matthew, no Sparky for my Mom!) — she can simply relax. Plus we have her fly direct from Milwaukee to LAX and that saves a few hours of travel and the long trek through that gargantuan airport in Minneapolis.
She brought Frisbee’s for the kids to play with and the simplest toys make the best ones and they had a great time with their Grandma in the front yard.
