This past Saturday Mina and Doug were married in the South Bay. It was like being around family too because four years ago I photographed Mina’s brother Brian’s wedding to Jenn. I love when this happens. It was a fantastic day and the rain from Friday cleared (thankfully) and gave us beautiful weather. The ceremony was sweet and tender — and included a grand bow from Doug to Mina’s Dad and another powerful part of the service was when Mina’s two brothers Brian and Yungjin sang “True Companion” a Marc Cohen song from the early 90s. You could feel the emotion take over the church. It’s one of those kind of moments that you just love to be present to and live for as a photographer. The reception was held at Veranda’s a gorgeous location in Manhattan Beach. While there they also had the traditional Korean paebek ceremony, Doug (a Minnesotan by birth) wearing a blue hanbok. When Doug and Mina spoke and thanked their friends, Mina made a point to thank her Mom who was instrumental in helping make the wedding come off without a hitch. Then, Mina gave her Mom a special bouquet and it was another one of those powerful moments of love and emotion. Congratulations to the couple in their journey to the midwest for more school for Mina. It was so great to be around you and your family and friends this past weekend!
