Mason waves at the engineer at the start of a recent Kids of Orange County 2013 portrait session at the Irvine Park Railroad.
It was so nice to photograph Mason and his sister Madeline who I haven’t photographed for a couple of years — glad that they’ll be gracing the pages of this year’s charity book project. Madeline was barely walking the last time I photographed her and now she’s grown up so much and a stylish little girl. I love how she posed in that middle portrait.
The bottom portrait of Mason was made just after arriving and I was drawn to his soulful gaze while being lit by the afternoon sunlight. The dappled and somewhat dramatic light went perfectly I thought with his expression.
This place is one of his and the family’s favorite places to visit and that’s why we went there for the session.
